Description:
We are looking for a seasoned Equity Research professional with strong expertise in financial modelling and deep sectoral knowledge across Banking, Specialty Finance, CRE, and FIG. The role involves building high-quality research, generating actionable investment insights, and supporting institutional decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth equity research on companies within Banking, Specialty Finance, CRE, and FIG sectors
- Build and maintain robust financial models (3-statement models, valuation models, scenario & sensitivity analysis)
- Perform industry and company analysis, including business models, competitive positioning, regulatory environment, and risk assessment
- Develop valuation frameworks using DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions, and sector-specific metrics
- Write initiating coverage, earnings update notes, thematic reports, and investment recommendations
- Track sector trends, macroeconomic indicators, regulatory changes, and credit cycles impacting coverage universe
- Interact with company management, industry experts, and internal stakeholders
- Support portfolio managers / investment committees with timely insights and data-driven analysis
- Mentor junior analysts (for senior roles) and review research outputs for quality and accuracy
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 5 - 15 years of experience in Equity Research, Investment Research, Sell-side Research, or Institutional Research
- Strong domain expertise in Banking, Specialty Finance, CRE, or FIG (one or more sectors)
- Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills
- Solid understanding of financial statements, credit analysis, asset quality, capital adequacy, and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior stakeholders
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint; exposure to Bloomberg/FactSet/Capital IQ preferred
- CA / CFA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification preferred
