Overview:

We are looking for a high-caliber Investment Analyst to join our Credit Opportunities team within the Financial Research group, with the option to be based in Hyderabad, Gurugram, or Bengaluru, depending on preference.

The group works closely with various front office teams to provide high-quality, in-depth support to the investment research and decision-making processes of the firms global proprietary trading strategies.

The Credit Opportunities team undertakes fundamental corporate credit analysis and investment research of corporate bond and loan issuers across geographies, working closely with front office desks to objectively assess credit quality, identify key risks and opportunities, and develop differentiated investment insights.

We are particularly interested in high-caliber investment analysts with single-name exposure, who have demonstrated expertise in fundamental company analysis and can develop an independent view on individual issuers.

What Youll Do Day-to-Day:

- Conduct fundamental corporate credit analysis and/or equity research on individual companies and issuers.

- Develop and maintain detailed financial models covering company financials, operating KPIs, capital structure, valuation, liquidity, leverage, cash flows, and peer analysis.

- Develop an independent view on individual companies and assess the implications for credit quality, valuation, and investment risk/reward.

- Monitor companies under coverage for earnings, corporate developments, industry trends, capital structure changes, ratings actions, and other material events.

- Analyze industry-level and company-specific data and prepare concise summaries highlighting key business, financial, and credit considerations.

- Work closely with front office analysts and investment teams to assess corporate credit quality and refine investment views.

- Perform detailed analysis of business fundamentals, competitive positioning, financial performance, debt structure, and downside risks.

- Prepare relative value analysis, peer comparisons, investment research, and other analytical outputs to support investment decisions.

- Over time, take ownership of broader industry coverage and provide due diligence and differentiated insights to front office teams.

- Support ad hoc research and analytical projects across sectors, geographies, and investment themes.

Who Were Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

- 5+ years of relevant investment research experience in fundamental corporate credit analysis and/or equity research.

- MBA in Finance or an equivalent professional qualification such as CFA / CA.

- Strong experience analyzing individual companies / single-name exposures, rather than primarily portfolio-level, index, or macro research.

- Demonstrated expertise in fundamental company analysis, financial statement analysis, and assessment of business and financial risks.

- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, including the ability to build models from the ground up.

- Strong understanding of capital structures, leverage, cash flows, debt servicing capacity, and credit metrics.

- Strong analytical ability, intellectual curiosity, and exceptional attention to detail.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate an investment view and key risks.

Sector Experience:

- Candidates with experience covering Industrials, Energy, or Oil & Gas are particularly relevant, especially with exposure to US or European companies.

- We are also open to sector-agnostic investment analysts with strong single-name fundamental research experience and a demonstrated ability to independently analyze companies across industries.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prior exposure to High Yield, Stressed, or Distressed Credits.

- Experience covering Industrials / Energy / Oil & Gas, preferably across US or European markets.

- Experience in equity research with strong fundamental company analysis, particularly where the candidate has developed detailed views on individual companies.

- Strong understanding of corporate bonds, loans, capital structures, and credit markets.

- Experience working directly with portfolio managers, traders, investment teams, or front office analysts.

- Ability to translate fundamental research into actionable investment insights.
