Role Overview
Transition VC is seeking an experienced Vice President - Portfolio Management to drive capital raising, portfolio growth, and exit strategies across our investee companies. The role requires a strong background in venture capital, investment banking, fundraising (Series A, B, C), and M&A, with proven relationships across the VC ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support fundraising efforts for portfolio companies across Series A, B, and C rounds, including preparation, positioning, and investor engagement.
- Actively manage portfolio companies, working closely with founders on growth strategy, financial planning, and capital structuring.
- Build, maintain, and leverage relationships with domestic and international VCs, growth funds, and strategic investors; drive B2B and cross-fund collaboration for capital raises.
- Plan and execute exit strategies for portfolio companies, including M&A, secondary sales, and strategic partnerships.
- Support M&A transactions, including deal structuring, negotiations, due diligence, and execution.
- Track and report portfolio performance, fundraising milestones, and exit readiness to Managing Partners.
- Work closely with founders to refine investor narratives, pitch decks, and data rooms.
- Represent Transition VC in investor meetings, demo days, and industry forums.
Key Requirements
- 8-12 years of relevant experience in Venture Capital, Private Equity, or Investment Banking, with strong exposure to startup fundraising and M&A.
- Proven track record of successfully raising capital for startups (Series A/B/C); candidates should be able to clearly demonstrate quantum of funds raised.
- Strong VC network and existing investor relationships.
- Hands-on experience in Mergers & Acquisitions, exits, or strategic transactions.
- Excellent financial modelling, valuation, and deal-structuring skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-management capabilities.
- Ability to work closely with founders, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with high-growth startups/VC's across multiple sectors.
- Prior experience reporting directly to Managing Partners or senior leadership.
- MBA / CA / CFA or equivalent qualification preferred.
