About the Role:
We are seeking an accomplished Area Sales Manager to drive regional sales growth, strengthen distributor networks, and expand market presence within the In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) domain. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen, hands-on sales leadership experience, and a proven track record of building high-performing teams. This role requires the ability to define strategic sales roadmaps, deliver accurate forecasting, and ensure seamless collaboration between sales, marketing, and distribution partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Business Growth:
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with organizational revenue goals.
- Drive market expansion initiatives while ensuring optimal coverage across assigned territories.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline to support consistent new business acquisition.
- Identify growth opportunities, competitive threats, and emerging market trends in the IVD space.
Sales Operations & Performance Management:
- Monitor, analyze, and report sales performance metrics, forecasting accuracy, and pipeline health.
- Prepare regular MIS, forecasting reports, and territory-wise performance dashboards.
- Implement corrective actions to ensure targets and KPIs are consistently achieved.
Team Leadership & Distributor Management:
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Sales Executives/Representatives to maximize productivity and performance.
- Strengthen relationships with channel partners, distributors, hospitals, diagnostic centers, and key accounts.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, pricing structures, and sales processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing teams to execute product launches, promotional campaigns, and customer engagement activities.
- Coordinate with product management, service, and operations teams to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Provide field insights to support strategic decisions related to product positioning and go-to-market planning.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Science, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or related field (Masters preferred).
- Proven experience in IVD sales, diagnostics equipment, or medical devices industry (mandatory).
- Minimum 3+ years of sales experience with at least 2 years in a frontline/area sales management role.
- Strong understanding of regional market dynamics, customer segments, and distributor ecosystems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead teams, manage field operations, and deliver results in a target-driven environment.
