Role Purpose:
The Trader - Grains & Oilseeds will be responsible for developing profitable trading strategies for the Indian grains and oilseeds market. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of market dynamics to identify trading opportunities while collaborating with global trading teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute profitable trading strategies for grains and oilseeds in line with business objectives.
- Analyze market trends, pricing movements, and supply-demand fundamentals to identify trading opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, traders, processors, exporters, and other market participants.
- Monitor production, crop conditions, government policies, and global market developments affecting grain and oilseed markets.
- Conduct market intelligence and provide regular updates on pricing, supply-demand outlook, and market positioning.
- Support development of pricing strategies and commercial proposals.
- Coordinate with global trading teams to align trading strategies and market insights.
- Participate in international trading discussions and contribute to business planning.
- Ensure smooth execution of contracts in coordination with logistics, finance, and operations teams.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, commercial controls, and ethical trading practices.
Candidate Profile:
- 4-6 years of experience in grains and/or oilseeds trading within the Indian market.
- Postgraduate / MBA from IIFT, IRMA, or another reputed institute.
- Strong understanding of Indian agricultural commodity markets, trading practices, and pricing mechanisms.
- Experience in supply-demand analysis, market intelligence, and commercial decision-making.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and commodity market analysis tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven trading environment.
