Trade & Forex Counsellor - Banking

Job Summary:

- The Trade and Forex Counsellor is responsible for acquiring and managing clients for trade finance and foreign exchange products.

- The role involves advising customers on international trade solutions, forex services, import/export documentation, and cross-border transactions while ensuring compliance with banking and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

- Promote and sell Trade Finance and Forex products such as Letter of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantee (BG), Export/Import Finance, Remittances, and Forex Conversion.

- Build and maintain relationships with SME, corporate, and business banking clients engaged in international trade.

- Advise customers on foreign exchange solutions, hedging options, and trade transaction processes.

- Support clients with import/export documentation, regulatory requirements, and transaction execution.

- Coordinate with branch banking teams to identify opportunities for trade and forex business.

- Ensure compliance with RBI/FEMA guidelines, internal banking policies, and KYC norms.

- Monitor forex market trends and provide relevant solutions to customers.

- Achieve assigned business targets for trade and forex revenue.

- Work closely with operations and credit teams for smooth processing of trade transactions.

- Resolve client queries related to trade finance and forex transactions.

Required Skills:

- Good understanding of Trade Finance and Forex products

- Knowledge of international trade processes, import/export documentation

- Familiarity with RBI, FEMA, and banking compliance norms

- Strong client relationship and sales skills

- Good communication and negotiation abilities

- Target-oriented and customer-focused mindset

Qualification:

- Graduate / Postgraduate in Finance, Banking, Commerce, or related field

- Relevant certifications in Trade Finance / Forex will be an added advantage

Experience:

- 2 to 5 years of experience in Trade Finance / Forex Sales / Corporate Banking

- Prior experience in banking or financial institutions preferred
