
Role Purpose:
To lead and drive the complete Human Resources function at RE, aligning HR strategy with business objectives, ensuring strong talent management, industrial relations, organizational development, and compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and execute HR strategy aligned with business goals and Torrent Group policies
- Act as a strategic partner to the leadership team on organizational design and workforce planning
- Drive HR transformation initiatives and best practices across the plant
2. Talent Management & Workforce Planning:
- Lead manpower planning, talent acquisition, and succession planning
- Build leadership pipeline and critical skill capabilities
- Implement robust performance management systems (PMS) and career progression frameworks
3. Industrial Relations (IR) & Employee Relations:
- Manage union relationships, negotiations, and long-term settlements
- Ensure harmonious industrial relations in a plant-intensive environment
- Handle grievance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
4. Learning & Development:
- Design and implement training programs for technical, managerial, and leadership development
- Build capability frameworks for plant operations and maintenance roles
- Drive culture of continuous learning and skill enhancement
5. Compensation & Benefits:
- Ensure competitive and equitable compensation structures aligned with Torrent policies
- Lead annual compensation reviews, benchmarking, and benefits management
- Drive performance-linked reward systems
6. HR Operations & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations (Factories Act, Labour Laws, etc.)
- Oversee payroll, HRMS, audit, and HR reporting systems
- Maintain strong governance and adherence to corporate policies
7. Organizational Development & Culture:
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and culture-building programs
- Lead change management initiatives across plant and corporate workforce
- Reinforce Torrents values around safety, ethics, and excellence.
8. Health, Safety & Wellbeing:
- Collaborate with EHS teams to ensure a strong safety culture
- Promote employee wellbeing and workplace safety practices
Desired Candidate Profile:
Education:
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources from a good institute
Experience:
- 18-25 years of experience in HR, preferably in power, energy, infrastructure, or heavy engineering sectors
- Strong exposure to industrial relations in manufacturing/plant environments
- Experience in leadership roles within large organizations
