Role Objective:
As the Lead - Market Research & Analysis, you will be responsible for steering high-impact insights that shape business decisions across product, brand, category, and channel strategies. You will work closely with CXOs, BU heads, and design/merchandising leads to support long-term growth, customer acquisition, and market leadership for a multi-crore, diversified jewellery portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Market Intelligence
- Lead end-to-end market research programs-consumer, category, competition, and macroeconomic-across domestic and international markets.
- Identify trends in gold, diamond, platinum, and fashion jewellery sectors including regulatory, pricing, and cultural drivers.
- Monitor global benchmarks, emerging jewellery trends, and innovation in sustainable or lab-grown jewellery.
2. Consumer & Brand Insights
- Drive segmentation, psychographic profiling, and lifestyle mapping of target consumers across tiers (Luxury, Premium, Mass).
- Partner with marketing to optimize brand campaigns, product messaging, and retail/e-commerce experience using data insights.
3. Product & Merchandising Analytics
- Deliver insights on demand forecasting, pricing sensitivity, product mix optimization, and collection lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with Design, Merchandising, and Retail teams to align product launches with consumer demand.
4. Competitive Intelligence
- Build robust models to benchmark competitors across pricing, assortment, promotions, and regional presence.
- Provide actionable intelligence on new entrants, M&A opportunities, and global players.
5. Business & Channel Performance Analysis
- Analyze retail, digital, franchisee, and international channel performance across 300+ stores or online platforms.
- Support strategic decisions such as new market entry, store rollout, or digital transformation through data-backed inputs.
6. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead a cross-functional team of analysts, researchers, and external agencies.
- Standardize research frameworks for Jewellery Research.
Work Experience
Qualifications & Experience
Education: MBA/PGDM in Marketing, Strategy, Economics, or Data Science from a top-tier institution
Experience: 10-12+ years of relevant experience in market research, consulting, or strategy roles
Preferred: Experience in large-scale consumer goods, retail, or jewellery sector
