
Job Description:
Role Purpose:
The Procurement IT Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating strategic IT and system implementation projects within the Procurement function. The role ensures the successful rollout, integration, and continuous enhancement of procurement-related platforms and system capabilities across business units. This includes Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), supplier lifecycle management, sourcing, e-auctions, supplier collaboration, SAP integration, master data management, Data Lake/Databricks integration, reporting, workflows, and interface management. The role serves as the bridge between Procurement, IT, Business Units, external implementation partners, and system providers, translating business requirements into structured IT project plans and ensuring successful delivery across complex stakeholder and system landscapes. This is a senior project leadership role, not a junior project coordination or operational system administration position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. IT Project Leadership & Rollout:
- Lead procurement-related IT projects from planning through implementation, go-live, and stabilization.
- Manage project scope, timelines, milestones, risks, dependencies, governance, reporting, and escalations.
- Ensure successful delivery of system implementation and digital transformation initiatives.
2. Procurement Systems & SRM Excellence:
- Drive harmonization and continuous improvement of SRM, sourcing, supplier management, and procurement platforms.
- Align business requirements, workflows, process standards, and system configurations across multiple business units.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes through technology.
3. SAP, SRM & System Integration:
- Coordinate integration between SAP, SRM platforms, PLM, MDM, Data Lake/Databricks, BI, and related enterprise systems.
- Translate interface, API, IDoc, data flow, and architecture requirements into implementation activities.
- Ensure seamless integration between procurement applications and enterprise systems.
4. Testing, Data & Reporting:
- Coordinate testing cycles, defect resolution, data migration, reporting readiness, and go-live activities.
- Ensure supplier master data quality, traceability, auditability, and reporting accuracy.
- Support analytics enablement and reporting improvements.
5. Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with Procurement, IT, Business Units, vendors, implementation partners, and key users throughout project delivery.
- Facilitate workshops, steering committee meetings, governance reviews, and change management activities.
- Manage vendor performance and support decision-making processes.
6. Governance, Risk & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with IT standards, procurement policies, security requirements, audit controls, and access management.
- Maintain project documentation and oversee operational handover and post-go-live stabilization.
- Monitor project risks and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
Required Candidate Profile:
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Information Technology, Business Informatics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
Experience:
- 5-8+ years of experience in IT Project Management, System Implementation, or Digital Transformation.
- Experience within Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Strategic Sourcing, or Supplier Management environments.
- Proven experience leading enterprise-wide IT implementation and rollout projects.
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with procurement platforms such as SAP, SAP Ariba, JAGGAER, QAD, SupplyOn, or similar SRM/Sourcing solutions.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, Supplier Lifecycle Management, Strategic Sourcing, and Supplier Collaboration.
- Knowledge of system integrations, APIs, IDocs, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Lake & Databricks, and Business Intelligence (BI) and Reporting.
- Experience with procurement data models, supplier master data, and reporting structures.
- Knowledge of testing, data migration, go-live planning, hypercare, IT security, compliance, audit, and access management.

- Fluent in English (mandatory).
- German is strongly preferred.
