SAP Senior TM Functional Consultant (S/4HANA & Cloud)

Experience:

- 8-12 years in SAP, with 6+ years in SAP Transportation Management (TM)

- At least 1-2 end-to-end S/4HANA TM implementations

Role Summary

The SAP Senior TM Functional Consultant will lead design, configuration, and deployment of SAP TM solutions on S/4HANA, supporting complex logistics and transportation processes. The role requires strong hands-on TM configuration expertise, deep integration knowledge, and experience working in cloud-enabled SAP landscapes (RISE, BTP, CPI).

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end SAP TM implementations on S/4HANA

- Own transportation business process design including:

- Freight Order Management

- Freight Unit & Capacity Planning

- Transportation Planning & Optimization

- Carrier Selection & Tendering

- Freight Settlement & Charge Management

- Configure SAP TM components including:

- Organizational structure & master data

- Transportation lanes, resources, and costs

- Charge calculation sheets & settlement profiles

- Drive integration with SAP S/4HANA modules:

- SD (Delivery, Billing)

- MM (Inbound logistics)

- EWM (Warehouse integration)

- FI (Freight settlement, accruals)

- Work with SAP BTP / CPI for cloud-based integrations with:

- 3PLs, carriers, tracking platforms

- External TMS or logistics partners

- Support embedded TM or side-car TM deployment models

- Lead functional workshops, blueprint sessions, and stakeholder discussions

- Provide guidance to technical teams for enhancements, BADIs, and Fiori apps

- Support UAT, cutover planning, and post go-live stabilization

Required Skills & Expertise

SAP TM Functional

- Strong hands-on experience in:

- SAP TM on S/4HANA (embedded or standalone)

- Transportation planning, execution, and settlement

- Experience with global logistics scenarios (inbound, outbound, intercompany)

- Knowledge of freight costing, track and trace charge management, and settlement integration

- SAP TM certification

S/4HANA & Integration

- Experience integrating TM with:

- SD, MM, EWM, FI

- Understanding of IDOCs, APIs, and CPI-based integrations

- Familiarity with Fiori apps in SAP TM

Cloud & Modern SAP Landscape

- Experience with:

- SAP S/4HANA Cloud or RISE with SAP

- SAP BTP (CPI, Integration Suite functional understanding)

- Exposure to hybrid landscapes (on-prem + cloud)

Good to Have

- Experience with global rollouts or multi-country deployments

- Exposure to logistics execution KPIs and analytics

- Experience working with agile delivery models

- Knowledge of carrier collaboration portals / track & trace tools

Soft Skills

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

- Ability to translate business logistics requirements into scalable SAP TM solutions

- Experience working independently in client-facing roles

- Mentoring junior TM consultants and reviewing functional designs

Location / Work Model

- Hybrid / Onsite / Remote (as per project need)
