About the Program:


- The InSight Program of The/Nudge is committed to building a Presbyopia-free India by enabling local entrepreneurs to deliver affordable reading glasses and basic vision screening services in underserved communities. Over 300 million Indians live with uncorrected near-vision impairment, leading to significant productivity losses.


- The program's approach combines livelihood creation with public health impact, training and supporting entrepreneurs to provide vision screening and sell reading glasses in rural and semi-urban markets.

- Location: Any of the following clusters in Tamil Nadu - Tiruvallur district, Kannivadi (Dindigul district), or Thiruchuli (Virudhunagar district)

- Reporting To: State Lead, Insight Program

- Duration: 12 Months (3 Months Probation)

Position: Block Lead (Entrepreneurship Operations & Partnerships), Insight Program

Role Overview:


- The Block Lead is responsible for managing and driving field operations across an entire block, supervising 10-15 Team Leads and ensuring the activation of 150-200 entrepreneurs network. The Block Lead ensures performance delivery, operational compliance, and community partnerships to achieve both impact and financial sustainability.


- This is a field-intensive leadership role requiring strong people management, data-driven decision-making, and community engagement skills.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Team & Entrepreneur Management


- Supervise 10-15 Team Leads and ensure each team builds and manages a network of 10-20 entrepreneurs.

- Ensure 150-200 active entrepreneurs per month, conducting the required near vision screening targets in the assigned block.

- Conduct weekly performance reviews with Team Leads, identify bottlenecks, and provide guidance.

- Ensure smooth flow of supplies, training materials, and incentives.

2. Operational Execution


- Oversee all field-level operations and adherence to program guidelines.

- Monitor daily screening activities, glass distribution, and conversion rates across the block.

- Conduct random field visits to validate screening quality and community engagement.

3. Data Management & Reporting


- Ensure 100% data accuracy and timely submission by Team Leads.

- Analyze block-level data and identify trends, opportunities, and risks.

- Share consolidated performance reports with the State Lead.

4. Training & Quality Control


- Facilitate onboarding and refresher training sessions for Team Leads and entrepreneurs.

- Conduct field audits to ensure screening quality and correct vision assessment protocols.

5. Stakeholder & Partner Coordination


- Build and maintain relationships with local government departments, SHG networks, NGOs, and partner institutions.

- Represent the InSight Program in local review meetings, awareness drives, and vision camps.

Qualifications and Skills:


- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.


- 3-5 years of experience in field operations, team management, or social enterprise programs.

- Proven track record in sales supervision, rural entrepreneurship, or public health implementation.

- Strong leadership and communication skills in Tamil; working proficiency in English.

- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and mobile data collection tools.

- Ability to travel extensively within the block.

- This role is ideal for a motivated field leader who can build teams, drive performance, and ensure quality execution at scale.
