The Sr. Manager/AGM - Buying & Planning will lead end-to-end merchandise planning, buying strategy, and inventory optimization for the online channel. The role is responsible for driving sales, maximizing margins, ensuring stock efficiency, and aligning assortment strategy with brand positioning and customer demand trends. Key Responsibilities: 1. Merchandise Planning & Forecasting: - Develop seasonal and monthly merchandise plans aligned with revenue and growth targets. - Analyze historical sales, market trends, and consumer behavior to forecast demand. - Drive OTB (Open-to-Buy) planning and inventory budgeting. 2. Buying Strategy: - Curate product assortment tailored for online channel performance and customer preferences. - Collaborate with design, sourcing, and merchandising teams for range planning. - Ensure right product mix across categories, sizes, and price points. 3. Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization: - Monitor stock levels, sell-through, and aging inventory. - Implement replenishment and liquidation strategies to maintain healthy stock turns. - Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure product availability. 4. Performance Analytics: - Track KPIs such as conversion, ASP, sell-through %, GMROI, inventory turns, and margin. - Identify underperforming SKUs and take corrective actions. - Prepare weekly and monthly performance dashboards for leadership. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Partner with marketing and digital teams to plan promotions, campaigns, and launches. - Align with finance for budgeting and profitability analysis. - Coordinate with marketplace teams (if applicable) for platform-wise assortment planning. 6. Team Leadership: - Lead and mentor planning/buying team members. - Build data-driven decision culture and process discipline. - Set performance goals and ensure execution excellence. Key Skills & Competencies: - Strong analytical and commercial acumen - Advanced Excel / BI / reporting tools proficiency - Strategic thinking with execution focus - Strong negotiation and vendor management skills - Ability to manage multiple seasons and product categories simultaneously - High ownership, agility, and problem-solving mindset Qualifications & Experience: - Graduate / Postgraduate in Fashion, Retail, Business, or related field - 10-14 years of experience in buying/planning (preferably fashion or lifestyle e-commerce) - Prior experience in D2C or omnichannel brands preferred - Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments is a plus
