Role Overview
The Deputy Business Head - Sales will be responsible for building, expanding, and managing a strong distribution network to achieve sales targets for the assigned portfolio of projects. This role requires strategic channel development, distributor relationship management, and leadership to ensure sustained revenue growth through third-party sales partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Distribution Strategy & Network Expansion:
- Develop and execute strategies to strengthen and expand the distribution channel network.
- Identify, appoint, and onboard new channel partners, brokers, and distribution agencies.
Channel Partner Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key distributors and intermediaries.
- Design and implement incentive schemes, engagement programs, and sales contests to drive performance.
Sales Planning & Execution:
- Set portfolio-wise targets for distribution partners and monitor achievement.
- Ensure timely flow of product information, marketing collateral, and training to channel partners.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a dedicated Channel Sales team.
- Provide market intelligence, guidance, and performance coaching to drive results.
Market Development:
- Drive penetration into untapped markets through distribution-led outreach.
- Monitor competitor activity and share actionable insights for strategic adjustments.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with Marketing for partner engagement events and promotional activities.
- Work with Finance for partner payout processes, credit terms, and compliance.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Track channel-wise sales performance and ROI on distribution programs.
- Recommend corrective actions and new initiatives to improve partner productivity.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of distribution/channel sales models.
- Proven ability to develop and manage high-performing partner networks.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and influencing skills.
- Analytical and strategic thinking with a results-driven mindset.
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
Qualifications
- Graduate/MBA in Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration (Preferred from tier 1 campus).
- 7-14 years of experience in channel/distribution sales, preferably in real estate, financial products, or FMCG sectors.
- Experience managing large partner networks and driving sales through distribution ecosystems.
