Position: Area Sales Manager Purpose of the Role : The Area Sales Manager will have the crucial responsibility of achieving primary and secondary targets in the assigned territory. This role involves handling General Trade. The ideal candidate will excel at identifying and developing key clients to drive business excellence and achieve targets. Responsibilities : - Achieve primary and secondary targets for the assigned area. - Develop monthly sales plans and forecasts, considering product shelf life. - Manage channels effectively to maximize sales opportunities. - Implement cost management strategies to optimize resources. - Prepare month-wise business forecasts and benchmark against previous years. - Analyze data and align with the Annual Operating Plan. - Monitor competition closely and devise proactive plans to counter new entrants. - Allocate manpower in different areas based on individual capabilities. - Mentor, motivate, and guide team members to ensure sales and business generation, meeting budgeted figures and activity ratios on a monthly basis. - Train subordinates to develop essential skills, including product knowledge, selling techniques, lead prospecting, and closing skills. Desired Skills & Experience - Education & Experience : The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and experience : - Any graduate with a preferred Masters degree in Sales/Marketing. - Strong experience (8 - 12 years) in a large Indian or multinational organization, preferably in the FMCG industry, with a focus on Rural Channel, General Trade. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. - Exceptional relationship management and interpersonal skills. - Proficient in team handling and leading by example. - Ability to communicate effectively and fluently in multiple languages.
