National Sales Manager (NSM) will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, managing a sales team, and achieving sales targets across the country for all the products in General trade & modern trade channels. The incumbent will also work to build strong relationships with key customers and distributors, analyze market trends, and identify new business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in FMCG, especially ready to eat packaged food/snack market, or a related fast-paced, logistics-driven environment, data-driven decision-making and market competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market share growth in the packaged food sector.
- Team Leadership & Management: Manage, motivate, and mentor a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management.
- Sales Target Achievement: Drive sales performance by meeting or exceeding sales targets for volume, revenue, and profitability within the designated area or product line.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and retailers in the packaged food industry.
- Market Analysis & Reporting: Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and sales data to identify opportunities and challenges, and prepare regular reports on sales performance.
- Budget Management: Manage the sales budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation.
- Product Knowledge: Possess a deep understanding of the company's products, including their features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
- Sales Process Optimization: Continuously improve the sales process by identifying areas for efficiency gains and implementing best practices.
- New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential customers, distribution channels, and product launches.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure alignment and coordination.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in General Trade, Modern Trade, or a fast-paced logistics-driven industry, with a strong focus on operations and P&L management.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Data-Driven: Ability to leverage data and analytics for decision-making, process improvement, and performance optimization.
