About the Role:
The Strategic Commercial Marketing Manager will lead and execute marketing strategies to directly generate new revenue streams and accelerate sales growth. This role is accountable for turning marketing activity into measurable commercial outcomes across our new product portfolio-including the CEO Community, Digital Executive Awards, Contributor Collective, podcasts, display advertising, and other initiatives.
Reporting into Founder/Operations Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Strategy: Create and execute comprehensive new product marketing plans aligned with revenue targets and growth KPIs.
- Campaign Management: Design, launch, and optimize new product multi-channel campaigns (email, social, SEO, paid, partnerships) that generate qualified leads and commercial opportunities.
- Lead Generation and Nurturing: Plan and execute campaigns to generate high-quality leads for the sales team, leveraging content, spotlights, events, digital platforms, and partnerships.
- Develop nurturing workflows to warm leads prior to handover to sales, improving
efficiency and conversion rates.
- Implement lead scoring and workflows to warm prospects before handover to sales.
- Audience & Community Growth: Develop initiatives to drive acquisition, engagement, and retention of subscribers, community members, and event participants.
- Revenue Generation: Partner with sales to deliver data, insights, and collateral that convert into sponsorship, advertising, and membership revenue.
- Brand Management: Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all marketing materials.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze campaign effectiveness, and provide regular reports to leadership.
- Budget Management: Manage the new product marketing budget efficiently, allocating resources to maximize ROI.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with the leadership team, editorial, sales, and operations teams to align marketing with business objectives.
- Marketing Strategy Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team on marketing strategies in the region, particularly for upcoming events such as awards, spotlights, large sales campaigns, and other initiatives.
- Ensure all campaigns and initiatives are aligned with regional sales priorities and support revenue growth.
- Product Marketing: Translate new product offerings (community, awards, contributor collective, podcasts, advertising solutions) into clear, differentiated value propositions for both audiences and commercial partners.
- Lifecycle Marketing: Develop and execute strategies across the full customer lifecycle, focusing on acquisition, engagement, retention, and growth of key communities.
- Sales Alignment: Partner with the sales team to provide insights, leads, and collateral that drive sponsorship, partnerships, and advertising revenue, while maintaining independence to deliver long-term brand growth.
- Marketing-Sales Alignment and Visibility :Collaborate with the sales team to ensure all marketing activities directly support revenue objectives.
- Share insights on lead quality, campaign performance, and client engagement to keep sales informed and aligned.
- Establish a feedback loop to enable continuous improvement in lead targeting and campaign effectiveness.
- Provide sales enablement materials such as pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, ROI calculators, and product demos.
We're a Great Match If You Have:
- Experience: 5+ years in a marketing role, with at least 2 years in a commercial or revenue-focused position, preferably within the media, publishing, or digital content industry.
- Revenue Focus: Demonstrated experience working closely with sales or commercial teams while leading independent marketing initiatives.
- B2B marketing funnels: Strong understanding of B2B marketing funnels, lead generation and buyer journeys, particularly within digital media or publishing.
- Digital Marketing Expertise: Proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms (Google Analytics, SEO/SEM, email marketing software, social media management tools, CRM systems).
- Analytical & Results Driven: Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
