Role Summary:
The Leadership & Development Manager will be responsible for designing, managing, and continuously improving the sites technical and quality training framework, ensuring full compliance with cGMP, GxP, and corporate training standards.
This is a strategic training leadership role requiring strong expertise in API/pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, Learning Management Systems (LMS), regulatory compliance, and capability development across Manufacturing, Quality, and Support functions.
The role serves as a key interface between site leadership and corporate Documentation & Training teams, driving harmonization, audit readiness, and a strong culture of learning and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Strategy & Governance:
- Assess organizational training needs across Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Support functions and translate them into structured training plans aligned with regulatory and business requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with site training policies, SOPs, and corporate training procedures.
- Define training frequency and re-training intervals in collaboration with functional leaders based on role criticality and regulatory expectations.
Learning Management System (LMS) Administration:
- Own and administer the site Learning Management System (LMS), including training assignments, scheduling, record maintenance, and reporting.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and audit-ready electronic and hard-copy training records.
- Manage on-the-job training (OJT) curricula, trainer qualification, documentation, and approval workflows within the LMS.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure all GMP, GxP, and mandatory compliance trainings are delivered on time as per the annual training calendar.
- Review quality records and training documentation to ensure conformance with approved procedures and cGMP requirements.
- Support inspections and audits by providing training metrics, evidence, and compliance documentation.
Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
- Develop and present training completion metrics and effectiveness indicators at Quality Review Board and management review meetings.
- Assist in the development of competency assessment tools, examinations, and evaluation worksheets to measure training effectiveness.
- Continuously improve training processes, systems, and content to enhance operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder Management & Corporate Alignment:
- Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) between the site and Corporate Documentation & Training teams.
- Drive harmonization of site training programs, procedures, and documentation with global corporate standards.
- Support monitoring and coordination of documents due for annual or periodic review.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Partner with site leadership, QA, Manufacturing, and HR to foster a strong culture of learning, accountability, and compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to functional managers and trainers on training requirements and best practices.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the reporting manager in line with organizational needs.
