CareerNet aims to provide fast, simple and cost-effective solutions for our clients, through strategic advice and solutions in the areas of Recruitment Process Outsourcing, Talent Acquisition Strategy and Planning, Compensation Advisory, University Recruitment, Leadership Acquisition, Talent Branding, Role Design, Performance Management Systems, Outplacement and Exit Management.   Position: Technology Head for a Bangalore-based lifestyle products start-up.   Location: Bangalore   The start-up has strong visibility, both online and offline - at its exclusive stores and multi-brand outlets.  - The ideal candidate will be responsible for running the Technology function and working closely with business and other stakeholders across the company.   - Build the highly scalable web application and platform.  - Provide vision and leadership for existing and emerging product and application technologies through an understanding of customer and business needs.  - Drive the architecture/design decisions needed to achieve cost-effective and high performance results.  - Manage the technology functions across the company, such as Development, QA, Support, Tools, etc.  - Bring in the new technology and methodologies in the system.  - Work closely with the leadership team to develop and manage the long&#8208;term technical strategy for the company and translate that into an achievable action plan.  - Provide project management, technical direction and guidance to the team and product.  - Recruit, motivate and empower employees, assign and direct their activities.  - Ensure that operational policies and procedures, including internal IT, data security policies, standards, and procedures, are in place and adhered to.  - Actively participate in strategic planning and process improvement initiatives.  Requirements:  - 5-10 years of technical & management experience in leading a successful, consumer focused online business.  - Should have been a part of/managed full product life cycle with core contribution on technology.  - Strong experience in the latest web technologies; both back-end and front-end:  - Experience in LAMP & UNIX is a must  - Must have some exposure to Javascript/HTML/CSS  - Awareness of Web standards  - Some experience with Perl/Python/HTML5 would be nice to have.  - Familiarity with internal reporting tools, information management systems.  - Demonstrated ability to motivate and innovate, excellent team building and leadership skills.  - Posses strong analytical and problem solving ability.  - Strong operational and project management skills in a product development environment.  Personal Characteristics:  - Risk taker, with immense intrinsic motivation to excel  - Integrity/strong business ethics  - Ability to fit in well within an informal startup environment  - Sensitive to culture differences   - Confident & assertive  - Results driven
