Area Sales Manager (ASM) Retail Projects Materials (Paints)
Location: Bangalore
Role Purpose
To lead and grow retail project sales of paints in the Bangalore region by managing a team of sales executives, driving dealer expansion, increasing project conversions, and ensuring high productivity across territories.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Revenue Delivery:
- Achieve monthly/quarterly retail project sales targets across assigned zones in Bangalore.
- Drive business from retailers, contractors, painters, architects, builders.
- Ensure consistent growth in both volume and value sales.
Team Management:
- Lead, train, and monitor Sales Executives / BDAs / Project Officers.
- Set daily/weekly targets and conduct performance reviews.
- Improve team productivity through field coaching and joint working.
Retail Channel Development:
- Appoint new retailers, stockists, and distributors to expand market coverage.
- Strengthen presence in retail stores and hardware shops.
- Ensure adequate stock planning, ordering, and availability.
Project & Influencer Management:
- Build strong relationships with contractors, painters, project supervisors, applicators.
- Conduct painter meets, contractor engagement programs, and product demos.
- Increase conversions at project sites through supervision and technical support.
Market Planning & Execution:
- Develop monthly sales plans for each territory.
- Execute retail schemes, promotions, branding, and merchandising activities.
- Track competitor schemes, prices, and strategies.
Operations & Coordination:
- Ensure timely collections, credit control, and outstanding management.
- Work closely with logistics, tinting, colour-matching, and operations teams.
- Resolve customer complaints, shade issues, and supply gaps quickly.
Reporting:
- Review and approve daily sales reports of the team.
- Prepare MIS, monthly business review data, and forecasting reports.
Qualifications:
- Graduate; MBA preferred.
- 5-10 years experience in paint sales / building materials / retail project sales.
- Strong team handling experience.
- Good communication in Kannada, English, Hindi.
- Two-wheeler + valid licence.
