Job Overview:

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager (TPM) with a strong background in client-facing project delivery for data engineering, analytics, or BI platforms. The TPM will be the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, owning end-to-end delivery of data-centric solutions. You'll manage timelines, requirements, agile ceremonies, and ensure client satisfaction while working closely with data engineers, architects, and analysts.

Key Responsibilities:

- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, translating their data needs into executable technical deliverables.

- Manage the entire lifecycle of data platform / engineering / analytics projects-from requirement gathering to final delivery.

- Own the product backlog, sprint planning, and roadmap aligned with business priorities.

- Drive agile execution with engineering and data teams-ensuring sprint goals are met and delivered on time.

- Translate business requirements into technical specs, particularly for ETL pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and BI systems.

- Monitor project health across scope, time, quality, and budget dimensions.

- Lead sprint ceremonies (standups, retrospectives, planning, demos) and ensure sprint hygiene in tools like JIRA / Confluence.

- Ensure data governance, data quality, and privacy compliance during project execution.

- Proactively manage risks, stakeholder expectations, and communication across internal and client teams.

- Continuously improve delivery processes and documentation frameworks.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

- 9-15 years of experience in Technical Project Management, with at least 3+ years in data projects.

- Hands-on delivery management experience with Data Engineering / Data Platform / Data Analytics projects.

- Proven success working in client-facing roles-owning deliverables, managing client communications, and stakeholder expectations.

- Deep understanding of data systems-ETL workflows, data pipelines, cloud data platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), SQL, and BI tools.

- Excellent command over project tracking tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and agile management practices.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; able to work with Data Architects and Engineers to resolve blockers.

- Ability to write clear and concise documentation, BRDs, and technical specs.

Good-to-Have:

- Knowledge of data compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and security standards.

- Certification in SCRUM / PMP / PRINCE2 or similar project methodologies.

- Understanding of modern data stack tools like Apache Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, Power BI, Looker, Tableau, etc.
