Role - Technical Head - Tunnel / Underground Business ( VP /Sr.VP)

Location - Mumbai

Experience : 20+ Years

Age Criteria - Not more than 53 Years

Qualification - BE - Civil / Geology /or a related technical discipline.

Required Skills-

a- Extensive experience in large-scale tunnelling or underground infrastructure projects.

b- Proven track record in a technical leadership or executive management role.

c- Hands-on experience with Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM) techniques is often required.

d- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) is preferred.

Technical skills-

Domain expertise: Deep knowledge of tunnelling techniques, structural engineering, and geotechnical analysis.

Risk management: Ability to identify, assess, and manage technical risks associated with tunnelling projects.

Key responsibilities

A-Technical leadership and strategy

1-Develop and implement technical strategy: Create and execute a clear technical vision that aligns with the company's long-term business objectives.

2-Oversee technical standards: Establish, enforce, and review technical standards, specifications, and best practices for all projects to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with regulations.

3-Drive innovation: Stay current with the latest industry trends, technologies, and international best practices in tunnelling and infrastructure to maintain a competitive edge.

4-Guide project scoping: Lead the initial scoping for major tunnel projects, focusing on innovative and efficient solutions.

B-Project oversight and management

1-Provide technical guidance: Offer high-level technical direction and problem-solving expertise to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

2-Ensure project delivery: Oversee the planning, design, and execution of tunnelling projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

3- Conduct risk management: Proactively identify project risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies.

4-Manage budget and resources: Control technical budgets, allocate resources effectively, and optimise project costs.

C-Business and stakeholder management -

1-Communicate with stakeholders: Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, regulators, suppliers, and internal teams. Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure satisfaction and manage expectations.

2-Participate in business development: Assist in preparing technical methodologies, estimates, and proposals for new projects.

3-Foster collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including design, operations, business development, and finance, to align on project and company goals.

D-Team leadership and development

1-Lead and mentor the team: Manage and mentor a team of tunnel engineers and specialists, promoting continuous learning and skill development.

2-Build technical capability: Cultivate and transfer tunnel engineering knowledge and capabilities within the organisation.

3-Foster a culture of safety: Prioritize and enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe work environment for all personnel.
