Role: Technical Consultant (Open to very senior or retired professionals)

Business Unit: Polymers

Role Objective

To provide deep technical leadership and strategic guidance in polymer chemistry, product development, manufacturing, and applications, enabling fast-tracked ideation, development, and commercialization of new polymer products aligned with the organization's long-term investment priorities and growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

1. New Product Ideation & Development

- Drive ideation and conceptualization of new polymer products based on market needs, regulatory trends, and technology advancements.

- Lead and guide end-to-end new product development (NPD) from lab-scale to pilot and commercial scale.

- Evaluate feasibility of new polymer chemistries, blends, and formulations for applications.

2. Technical & Process Expertise

- Provide expert guidance on polymer chemistry, structureproperty relationships, and functional performance.

- Advise on manufacturing processes, scale-up challenges, process optimization, and quality consistency.

- Troubleshoot complex technical and process-related issues during development and commercialization.

3. Commercialization & Business Alignment

- Support successful commercialization of new products with clear value propositions and profitability targets.

- Ensure all projects align with the organization's future investment roadmap, portfolio strategy, and growth objectives.

- Collaborate with business, marketing, regulatory, and operations teams to ensure market readiness.

4. Strategic & Advisory Role

- Act as a technical thought leader for the Polymers business.

- Evaluate external technologies, partnerships, and acquisition opportunities from a technical standpoint.

- Mentor internal R&D and technical teams where required.

Candidate Profile

Experience

- Very senior professional / retired expert from reputed Indian or multinational chemical/polymer organizations.

- Proven track record of successfully commercializing multiple new polymer products.

Technical Expertise

Strong, hands-on knowledge of:

- Polymer chemistry and formulations

- Product development and scale-up

- Manufacturing processes and application development

- Strong understanding of regulatory, quality, and safety considerations for polymers.

Industry Background

- Reputed Chemical / Polymer companies (Indian or global MNCs)

- Experience in polymers, specialty polymers, or performance materials preferred
