Role Overview:
The Sales Manager Mining will be responsible for promoting Techfabs geosynthetic products and rockfall protection solutions to mining clients across India. This role demands a strong understanding of mining operations, client relationship management, and a proven ability to generate new business opportunities.
The ideal candidate should already have active working relationships with major mining sector clients such as ECL, MCL, OMC, WCL, JSW, Tata Steel, Vedanta, SCCL, and CIL, among others. This position requires extensive travel and proactive business development to support Techfabs strategic growth in the mining sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Business Development:
- Achieve assigned sales targets for geosynthetics and rockfall protection solutions in the mining sector.
- Identify, qualify, and acquire new business opportunities across mining companies and contractors.
- Develop strategic sales plans to penetrate new mining regions and client groups.
- Maintain strong client relationships through regular meetings, follow-ups, and presentations.
2. Client & Project Management:
- Understand client requirements, project challenges, and recommend appropriate Techfab solutions.
- Generate new project leads by engaging with procurement teams, project managers, mine planners, and technical departments.
- Conduct detailed project feasibility analysis and collaborate with internal teams for pricing, BOQs, and proposal submissions.
- Ensure timely and quality communication with clients throughout the sales cycle.
3. Product Promotion & Technical Engagement:
- Promote Techfabs geosynthetic & rockfall protection products for ongoing and upcoming mining projects.
- Conduct product demos, technical presentations, and solution workshops at client sites.
- Arrange site visits, field demonstrations, and meetings for Techfabs technical team to engage with clients effectively.
4. Consultant & Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with DPR consultants to identify new mining infrastructure opportunities.
- Ensure Techfabs product specifications are incorporated in tender documents and DPRs.
- Build long-term relationships with consultants, contractors, and decision-makers.
5. Market Intelligence & Reporting:
- Track competitor activities, market trends, upcoming tenders, and project announcements.
- Provide periodic MIS reports, sales forecasts, and business updates to the Head of Rockfall Protection Business.
- Prepare and present monthly sales performance reports.
6. Travel & Field Operations:
- Travel extensively across India to visit mining sites, client offices, consultants, and project locations.
- Represent Techfab at exhibitions, industry seminars, and conferences relevant to mining and geosynthetics.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- MBA in Marketing (preferred for sales-oriented candidates)
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in sales/business development in mining, geosynthetics, construction materials, engineering solutions, or related industries.
- Strong working relationships with companies like ECL, MCL, OMC, WCL, JSW, Tata Steel, Vedanta, SCCL, CIL, etc.
Technical/Functional Skills:
- Understanding of mining operations, slope protection, geosynthetics, and rockfall safety solutions.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and handling large industrial clients.
Key Competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients/projects simultaneously.
- High confidence in client-facing roles and solution-based selling.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
