Position Overview
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Head of Design to lead and elevate the creative function across all our digital and brand initiatives. This is a senior leadership role requiring a balance of creative excellence, strategic thinking, team leadership, and client-focused execution. The ideal candidate will own the overall design philosophy of the organization, drive innovation, and ensure high-impact visual storytelling across every touchpoint.
As the Head of Design, you will lead a team of designers, UX experts, and creative professionals, and work closely with senior stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Technology, and Client Servicing to deliver compelling, user-centric experiences that drive business results.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Design Leadership
- Define and own the company's design vision, standards, and brand language across all digital and print assets.
- Translate business goals and user needs into compelling visual solutions and experiences.
- Align design objectives with marketing strategies, customer journeys, and broader organizational goals.
Creative Direction & Execution
- Guide the development of high-quality, innovative visual content for websites, digital campaigns, social media, branding, UI/UX, and more.
- Ensure design consistency, scalability, and excellence across all platforms and projects.
- Review and approve key deliverables to uphold creative quality and brand alignment.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, mentor, and scale a multidisciplinary design team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Build a team structure that supports creativity, speed, and scalability.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, skills development, and succession planning.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent the design function in client presentations, internal leadership meetings, and cross-functional collaborations.
- Translate complex client needs into design briefs and ensure successful delivery of creative outcomes.
- Act as the strategic advisor to clients on branding, visual identity, and digital design trends.
Innovation & Trends
- Stay ahead of industry trends, design tools, and best practices in UI/UX, digital storytelling, and brand communication.
- Encourage a culture of experimentation, innovation, and learning within the team.
Operational Excellence
- Manage project timelines, design resources, and budgets in collaboration with the Project Management Office (PMO).
- Implement and refine design processes, systems, and workflows to improve productivity and quality control.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, or related field.
- 8-12 years of professional design experience, with 3+ years in a design leadership or head-of-department role, preferably in a fast-paced agency or tech environment.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional design teams, including UI/UX, motion graphics, and brand designers.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of high-impact work across digital platforms.
Skills & Competencies
Expertise in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, InVision, and motion design platforms.
Strong understanding of UX/UI principles, responsive design, accessibility, and digital marketing workflows.
Exceptional visual storytelling and branding capabilities.
Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with agility and deliver results under pressure.
