About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Team Lead - US Payroll to oversee end-to-end payroll operations for US-based clients. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of US payroll regulations, team management experience, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to ensure accurate and compliant payroll delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee end-to-end US payroll processing for multiple clients.
- Ensure accurate salary calculation, deductions, taxation, and benefits administration.
- Review and validate payroll reports to maintain 100% accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to US Federal and State tax regulations, including W-2, W-4, and 1099 form management.
- Work with payroll platforms such as ADP, Workday, Ceridian, or SAP for payroll execution and reporting.
- Lead and mentor the payroll team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and US clients to ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery.
- Handle employee queries, discrepancies, and issue resolutions within defined timelines.
- Maintain compliance with data privacy and payroll-related legal requirements.
- Identify process gaps and lead initiatives for automation and continuous improvement.
- Prepare payroll summaries, audit reports, and ensure accurate record maintenance.
- Stay updated with changing payroll laws, tax codes, and compliance requirements.
Skillsets & Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of US payroll processing, taxation, and compliance.
- Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, Ceridian, or SAP.
- Strong understanding of W-2, W-4, 1099, and payroll tax filings.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication for client and internal interactions.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities to handle multiple payroll cycles.
- Experience in process automation and improvement.
- Knowledge of Indian payroll laws (preferred but not mandatory).
- Relevant certifications such as CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or HR certifications (preferred).
