Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Team Lead US Accounts to join our fast-growing F&A team. This role involves managing US accounting engagements, leading a team of accountants, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and maintaining client satisfaction for CPA firms and end-clients based in the US.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Communication: Act as the point of contact for US-based CPA firms and clients; manage expectations and ensure delivery SLAs.
- Accounting Review: Review and oversee monthly/annual bookkeeping, accounting, and reconciliation work completed by the team.
- Month-End & Year-End Closings: Manage month-end and year-end financial closing activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Reconciliations: Supervise and conduct bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
- Payroll & Compliance: Handle and review US payroll processing; ensure accurate filing of forms 940, 941, and 1099.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of accountants; oversee resource planning, task allocation, performance management, and skill development.
- Quality Control: Ensure high-quality outputs through proper review processes and resolve queries/escalations effectively.
- Project Management: Independently manage multiple client projects, from initiation to delivery, ensuring timelines and quality benchmarks are met.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation within the function.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in US Accounting with at least 2-3 years in a team leadership role.
- Strong expertise in US GAAP, US Payroll, tax form preparation (940, 941, 1099), and accounting standards.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks Online (QBO), QuickBooks Desktop (QBD), Xero, and advanced MS Excel.
- Ability to manage deadlines and multi-client engagements efficiently.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and conflict resolution capabilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to identify and correct accounting discrepancies.
- Willingness to work in US shifts and in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a BPO/KPO or outsourcing environment serving US-based clients.
- Prior experience in interacting directly with US CPA firms.
- Knowledge of other cloud-based accounting tools (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, etc.) is a plus.
- Exposure to working with international payroll platforms is an advantage.
