Team Lead - Inventory - Oil & Gas

We are seeking a highly skilled Team Lead - Inventory with strong experience in the oil & gas sector to manage critical inventory processes, including materials, spares, consumables, and equipment used in exploration, production, and plant operations. The role requires strong domain understanding, accuracy, and compliance with stringent safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management (Oil & Gas Focus):

- Maintain accurate records of equipment, critical spares, consumables, hazardous materials, and tools.

- Manage cycle counts, stock audits, reconciliation, and variance reporting for drilling, production, and maintenance inventory.

- Ensure inventory is aligned with maintenance schedules, shutdown planning, and project requirements.

- Monitor shelf-life, calibration schedules, and condition of critical spares.

Warehouse & Yard Operations:

- Oversee safe storage, handling, and movement of high-value materials and hazardous goods.

- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, MSDS guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

- Optimize warehouse layout and material flows to enhance operational efficiency.

Process Compliance & Controls:

- Implement and enforce SOPs aligned with oil & gas operational standards.

- Coordinate with procurement for material planning, lead-time monitoring, and supplier follow-ups.

- Support audits (internal/external) and strengthen controls to prevent stock losses or misallocation.

Team Leadership:

- Manage and guide inventory controllers, warehouse staff, and material coordinators.

- Conduct training on safety, inventory systems, and oil & gas handling protocols.

- Drive a culture of accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement.

Data Management & Reporting:

- Ensure accurate entries in ERP/WMS systems (SAP / Oracle / Maximo / Infor).

- Generate MIS reports on inventory health, aging, stock-out risks, and high-value items.

- Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams for material planning and availability.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong experience in oil & gas inventory management

- Knowledge of drilling/maintenance consumables, critical spares & hazardous materials

- Good understanding of HSE requirements

- Proficiency in SAP / Maximo / Oracle / ERP tools

- Strong analytical, coordination, and leadership abilities

- Understanding of vendor management and supply chain processes
