Job Title: Taxation Specialist Direct & Indirect Taxation

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Taxation Specialist with in-depth expertise in Indian Direct and Indirect Taxation to manage compliance, advisory, and tax due diligence across industries. The role demands a sharp analytical mind, strong drafting capabilities, and the ability to interpret complex tax and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct & Indirect Tax Compliance
- Prepare and review income tax computations, returns, and tax audit reports in compliance with the Income Tax Act, 1961.
- Ensure timely filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C) and reconciliation of GST input credits.
- Manage advance tax, TDS/TCS compliance, e-assessments, and tax provisioning in financials.
Advisory & Risk Management
- Conduct tax due diligence for companies, identifying key tax exposures and mitigation strategies.
- Draft position papers and advisory notes on complex Income Tax & GST provisions including MAT, DDT, Place of Supply rules, and ITC restrictions.
- Advise on transaction structuring, cross-border taxation, transfer pricing considerations, and tax optimization strategies.
Litigation & Regulatory Representation
- Draft replies to notices, show cause, audit queries, and appellate submissions before tax authorities.
- Liaise with external consultants, counsels, and government authorities for effective resolution of disputes.
- Assist in tax assessments, appeals, and departmental audits.
Regulatory Updates & Reporting
- Track and analyze changes under Income Tax Act, GST law, Companies Act, SEBI, FEMA and other regulatory frameworks.
- Draft regulatory updates and internal tax alerts for management and stakeholders.
- Prepare impact analysis reports on Union Budget announcements, Finance Acts, and GST Council decisions.
Requirements:
Education: CA/LLB/M.Com or equivalent qualification with specialization in Taxation.
Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Indian Direct & Indirect Taxation.
- Strong expertise in tax compliance, advisory, litigation support, and due diligence.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and presentation skills with ability to interpret legislation.
- Proficiency in tax software (Cleartax, Winman, etc.) and MS Excel.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments under tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
Good to Have:
- Exposure to international taxation & transfer pricing regulations.
- Experience in advising on M&A transactions and restructuring from a tax perspective.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) for tax reporting
