Desired Profile We are looking for a competent Chartered Accountant specialized in tax advisory. Primarily, the profile will include advisory on taxation to international as well as domestic clients. Technical Skills - Representation in assessment proceedings including re-assessment, filing responses to various notices, department's audit objection, assistance in effecting appeal effects from higher appellate authorities viz. tribunal, filing of rectifications, assistance in penalty proceedings, undertaking project for removal of outstanding tax demands, filing of application of stay of demand etc. - Undertaking research and drafting of legal opinions/ memos on intricate tax issues viz. taxability, deductibility, WHT, wealth-tax, permanent establishment etc. - Tax risks identification and management: to detect leakages / non-compliance, conceptualizing and implementing income tax positions, assistance in resolving uncertain tax positions, Optimum use of corporate tax incentives, strategies for profit / dividend repatriation. - Structuring of transactions to optimize tax benefits and to ensure adherence to tax laws, India entry strategy from tax perspective, choice of appropriate form of entity, assistance in entity set up, registrations with authorities, tax due diligence, developing broad tax strategy on transaction objectives, tax efficient and regulatory compliant structuring, implementation. Additional Desirable Knowledge/ Experience: - Advice on transaction structure including merger and slump sale. Structuring Advisory in relation to Exit of any franchise/ subsidiary and Valuation Advisory, - Knowledge/experience in undertaking fast-track exit and conversion of partnership to LLP. - Representation in appellate proceedings before the Dispute Resolution Panel including filing of appeal/s 144C, reassessment, assistance in effecting appeal effects from higher appellate authorities viz. tribunal, filing of rectifications, determining the appeal strategy and approach and drafting of legal submissions, advising on the course of action to be adopted before revenue authorities to mitigate the risk of penal consequences, reviewing pending litigation and other uncertain tax positions.
