Job Responsibilities:
1. Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure accurate and timely compliance with all Direct Tax (Income Tax, TDS, Transfer Pricing) and Indirect Tax (GST) requirements.
- Review and oversee filing of returns, advance tax, tax audits, GST reconciliations, and assessments.
- Liaise with tax consultants and advisors to manage litigation, notices, and representations with authorities.
- Maintain strong tax governance framework across group entities.
2. Advisory & Structuring:
- Act as the single point of contact for tax-related advisory for all Group companies.
- Provide tax advisory on equity fund-raising rounds (PE/VC/Institutional investors), including structuring of transactions, evaluation of tax implications, and diligence support.
- Advise management on tax-efficient entity structuring, inter-company transactions, cross-border arrangements, and capital flows.
- Support in deal structuring, M&A, and investment/divestment transactions.
3. Strategic Tax Management:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Group Tax Strategy covering direct and indirect taxes.
- Monitor regulatory changes in Income Tax, GST, FEMA, SEBI, RBI, and International Taxation and assess their business impact.
- Drive tax optimization initiatives without compromising compliance.
- Ensure tax risk management and compliance with global best practices.
4. Business Partnering:
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and Business teams to provide proactive tax inputs on business models, new products, and investment structures.
- Work closely with external advisors, Big 4 firms, and consultants to align on strategy and ensure execution.
- Prepare and present periodic updates on tax matters to the CFO and senior management.
Preferred Skills:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 7+ years of post-qualification experience in tax function.
- Strong working experience in Income Tax and GST compliances, assessments, and advisory.
- Exposure to equity fund-raising rounds, including due diligence support and deal structuring.
- Prior experience in BFSI / FinTech / Wealth Management / NBFC / Broking is highly desirable.
- Excellent understanding of Indian taxation framework, FEMA regulations, and cross-border tax considerations.
- Ability to work independently and as a strategic advisor to management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
