We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager with expertise in U.S. Federal Tax for Corporate, Partnership, and Investment Management entities, including Hedge Funds, Private Equity, and Real Estate Funds. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of U.S. tax forms, partnership taxation, and fund accounting, along with strong project management and client facing skills. This role requires a blend of technical tax expertise, analytical thinking, and leadership ability to manage complex compliance and advisory engagements.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in U.S. Federal Tax compliance and advisory.
- Strong knowledge of Corporate (Form 1120, 1120-F), Partnership (Form 1065), and International (Forms 8865, 5471, 8858) tax compliance.
- Experience with Schedules K-1, K-3, and/or PFIC statements.
- Familiarity with fund accounting and general ledger accounting.
- Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Bachelors/ Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related fields.
- Prior Big 4 or equivalent public accounting/tax advisory experience preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with tax compliance software and research tools.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to articulate tax conclusions, planning opportunities, and risks.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead preparation and review of U.S. Federal tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and investment funds (hedge funds, private equity, real estate).
- Review and analyze Schedules K-1, K-3, PFIC statements, and related disclosures.
- Research complex U.S. tax issues, analyze regulations, and provide technical memos.
- Advise clients on tax planning opportunities, compliance risks, and regulatory updates.
- Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing.
- Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and proactive service.
- Oversee and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and technical training.
- Ensure compliance with firm quality control procedures and U.S. tax regulations.
- Stay current with evolving tax laws affecting corporations, partnerships, and investment funds.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve workflows and operational efficiency.
