Talentica - Data Scientist - IIT/NIT/BITS

Role Overview:

- We are looking for a Data Scientist who has hands-on experience across multiple areas of Machine Learning and is comfortable working in a startup-like environment. The ideal candidate enjoys solving ambiguous problems, reading research papers, building PoCs, and converting them into scalable, production-grade systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to solve real-world business problems. Implement complex algorithms efficiently using Python.

- Work across ML domains such as classification, regression, clustering, NLP, and computer vision.

- Build end-to-end pipelines from data ingestion modeling evaluation production deployment.

- Convert PoCs into production-quality code, ensuring scalability and performance. Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate ML solutions into products. Work with structured and unstructured data across SQL and NoSQL databases.

- Stay updated with latest research, frameworks, and best practices in ML and AI.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:

- Strong programming expertise in Python, with the ability to implement complex algorithms.

- Solid understanding of machine learning and statistical algorithms.

- Hands-on experience with ML frameworks and libraries such as: TensorFlow Keras OpenCV Experience working with Big Data and databases including: SQL / PostgreSQL NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j)

- Proven ability to take ML solutions from PoC to production, including deployment. Experience working in real-world production environments.

- Good to Have / Preferred Skills Formal coursework or strong foundation in: Linear Algebra Stochastic Models Pattern Recognition Design & Analysis of Algorithms Machine Learning Interest or experience in Deep Learning, especially: Computer Vision Video analytics Shape recognition, matching & retrieval Exposure to statistical modeling and inference techniques.

- Familiarity with model performance tuning and optimization.

- Experience & Mindset 2+ years of industry experience as a Data Scientist / ML Engineer.

- Prior experience working in a startup or fast-paced product environment.

- Ability to translate theory into practice by reading and applying research papers.

- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to conceive original ideas.

- Must have taken at least 2 products end-to-end into production.
