Role Overview:
As the Head Plant Quality, based in Pune, you will be responsible for leading and managing all quality assurance activities within the manufacturing plant. This pivotal role involves ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards across all processes, from raw material sourcing to final product delivery. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a robust quality management system. Your leadership will directly impact product quality, customer satisfaction, and the overall operational efficiency of the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independent handling of all QA functions in automobile industry
- Adopting and developing new quality standards, processes, for sustaining and improving product quality
- Examining the outgoing vehicle quality for functional, aesthetic, safety etc.
- Ensuring products are designed with adherence to legal and safety standards.
- Process audit at vendors & shops for verification of system compliance.
- Understanding customer expectations and needs from the product.
- Developing and improving supplier quality
- Knowledge of New product development process.
- Interface with R&D for rectifying quality issues and analysis
- Audits- Internal and vendor quality, TPM
- Analyzing statistical reports on quality standards and suggesting corrective measures
- Field failure analysis along with CQA - EFR / Warranty & initiating actions
- Guide concerned departments & vendors for implementing corrective & preventive actions.
Required Skillset:
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team of quality professionals.
- Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools, including ISO standards, Lean, and Six Sigma.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify root causes of quality issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience in supplier quality management, including supplier audits and performance monitoring.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- 12-20 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
