Senior Data Scientist
Job Description:
We are seeking a Data Scientist with strong expertise in Pricing and Promotions analytics to drive data-driven pricing strategies, promotional effectiveness, and revenue optimization. The ideal candidate will combine statistical modeling, machine learning, and business acumen to influence pricing decisions across products, channels, and customer segments.
Key Responsibilities:
Pricing Analytics:- Design, build, and maintain pricing models (price elasticity, demand forecasting, price optimization).
- Analyze historical pricing data to identify revenue, margin, and volume trade-offs.
- Support dynamic pricing and scenario simulations where applicable.
- Partner with business teams to recommend optimal pricing strategies.
Promotions & Offer Optimization:- Evaluate promotion effectiveness using uplift modeling, causal inference
- Analyze cannibalization, halo effects, and post-promotion dips.
- Design and optimize discount strategies, bundles, and targeted offers.
- Measure ROI of promotions and recommend improvements.
Advanced Analytics & Modeling:- Build predictive and prescriptive models using regression, time series, ML techniques, and optimization.
- Apply causal inference methods (DiD, propensity score matching, uplift modeling).
- Develop customer segmentation for personalized pricing and promotions.
Data & Stakeholder Collaboration:- Work with product, marketing, finance, and sales teams to translate insights into action.
- Communicate analytical findings through dashboards, presentations, and storytelling.
- Partner with data engineering teams to ensure scalable and reliable data pipelines.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.
- Strong experience in pricing, promotions, revenue management, or commercial analytics.
Hands-on experience with:- Price elasticity modeling
- Promotion lift / uplift modeling
- Solid understanding of statistical methods and machine learning.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience in Retail, E-commerce, CPG, Travel, or SaaS pricing.
- Familiarity with optimization techniques (linear/non-linear programming).
- Exposure to BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
