Job Title: Quality, Safety, and Training
Location: PAN India
Reporting to: AVP - Operations
Grade: 10
Direct Reports: Senior Manager - QHSE, Senior Manager - Training
About the Role:
The Director - Quality, Safety, and Training will be responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and developing training programs to enhance operational excellence. This leadership role will focus on implementing industry best practices, regulatory compliance, and fostering a high-performance culture across all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Driving Continuous Improvement Culture:
- Redesign processes based on best practices to align with organizational goals and industry standards.
- Stay updated with the latest process excellence methodologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
- Conduct regular progress reviews to monitor the success of implemented changes, adjusting strategies as necessary.
- Promote employee engagement in process improvement initiatives.
- Lead operational excellence programs such as Andon Cord, Gemba Walks, and Poka-Yoke.
2. Training Program Development:
- Design and implement comprehensive training programs for new and existing employees.
- Develop training materials, including manuals, videos, and interactive modules.
- Customize training programs to meet specific needs of various units or regions.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they are well-trained in food safety, hygiene, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize new hires with company culture and expectations.
3. Performance Monitoring and Compliance:
- Track performance of employees post-training and assess training effectiveness.
- Work with POD managers to identify areas needing additional training and implement feedback mechanisms.
- Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and food safety regulations.
- Conduct audits to verify proper implementation of training and maintain high safety and hygiene standards.
4. Quality & Safety - Systems and Compliance:
- Ensure statutory and legal compliance across all PODS.
- Monitor consumer complaint trends, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee procurement, inspection, and monitoring of raw materials, semi-processed foods, and outsourced products.
- Plan and coordinate monthly audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Establish SOPs for periodic quality and safety checks, and oversee closure of non-conformities.
5. Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design customized audit templates for quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Liaise with external parties for compliance and safety testing.
- Organize safety and sustainability awareness programs, newsletters, and workshops.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth adoption of process improvements and training initiatives.
6. People Management:
- Build, lead, and develop a competent team across India, setting clear role deliverables, targets, and timelines.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and ensure team alignment with organizational goals.
- Foster a high-performance culture by empowering team members and providing continuous development opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- experience in process excellence, quality management, safety protocols, and employee training, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in food services, manufacturing, or related operational settings is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, HACCP, GMP, and other continuous improvement frameworks.
- Expertise in managing safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and monitor training programs across various levels.
