About the Role

As the Director - Business for Swiggy Assure, you will own the growth and business performance charter for the vertical. You will be responsible for building and executing the business strategy, driving revenue and contribution, expanding the customer base, strengthening enterprise partnerships and ensuring operational excellence across markets.

The role requires a strategic business leader with strong commercial acumen, demonstrated experience in B2B or enterprise business, and the ability to work closely with sales, operations, product, finance and central strategy teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

Business Strategy and P&L Ownership:

- Own the overall business strategy, growth agenda and P&L for Swiggy Assure.

- Define annual and quarterly business plans, revenue targets, profitability goals and market expansion priorities.

- Identify new business opportunities, customer segments, use cases and monetisation avenues.

- Drive revenue growth, contribution improvement, cost optimisation and sustainable unit economics.

- Establish operating mechanisms to track business performance, identify risks and course-correct through regular reviews and root-cause analyses.

Enterprise Growth and Partnerships:

- Build and lead the enterprise business charter, including customer acquisition, account growth, retention and cross-sell.

- Develop strong relationships with CXOs and senior stakeholders across key enterprise accounts.

- Own strategic negotiations, commercial constructs, contracts, renewals and joint business plans.

- Identify opportunities to deepen partnerships through customised solutions, new use cases and service expansion.

- Act as the face of Swiggy Assure for key customers and strategic external stakeholders.

Market Expansion:

- Evaluate and prioritise new markets, customer segments and industry verticals for expansion.

- Build market-entry strategies based on customer needs, competitive dynamics, delivery economics and operational feasibility.

- Drive adoption and scale-up of Swiggy Assure solutions across identified geographies.

- Develop a clear understanding of market-level demand, supply availability, serviceability and competitive positioning.

Operational Excellence:

- Partner closely with Operations and Supply teams to ensure consistent service quality, reliability and scalability.

- Drive improvement in key operating metrics, including fulfilment, turnaround time, delivery success rate, partner productivity, customer experience and NPS.

- Identify operational gaps and work with cross-functional teams to design sustainable solutions.

- Ensure effective governance mechanisms across service quality, escalations, compliance and customer experience.

- Balance growth ambition with strong focus on cost efficiency, risk management and operational discipline.

Product, Technology and Solution Development:

- Work closely with Product, Technology, Data Science and Central Strategy teams to develop solutions relevant to enterprise customers.

- Translate customer and market requirements into product enhancements, pilots and scalable business solutions.

- Lead the adoption of new products, configurations, tools and processes across the business.

- Use data and technology to improve visibility, predictability, productivity and customer outcomes.

- Provide structured feedback to central teams and influence product roadmaps based on business priorities.

Stakeholder Management:

- Build alignment with senior stakeholders across Business, Operations, Product, Finance, Legal, Risk, Marketing and Strategy.

- Influence central teams to prioritise and resolve business-critical requirements and roadblocks.

- Drive effective collaboration between sales, account management, operations and support functions.

- Represent the business in leadership reviews and provide clear insights on performance, opportunities and risks.

Team Leadership:

- Build, mentor and lead a high-performing business team across sales, account management and business operations.

- Define team charters, goals, operating rhythms and performance metrics.

- Hire and develop talent across levels while building a strong ownership-driven culture.

- Coach leaders to manage complex customer relationships, solve business problems and deliver consistently against targets.

- Foster a culture of customer obsession, analytical decision-making, collaboration and high ethical standards.

Desired Skills and Experience:

- 10+ years of relevant experience in B2B, enterprise sales, business leadership, operations, logistics, SaaS, e-commerce or a related sector.

- Proven experience in owning business growth, revenue, profitability or P&L for a large and complex business.

- Strong experience in enterprise customer acquisition, strategic account management and commercial negotiations.

- Demonstrated ability to build and execute business strategy across multiple markets or customer segments.

- Strong understanding of business metrics, unit economics, forecasting and performance management.

- Experience working with cross-functional teams across Sales, Operations, Product, Finance and Strategy.

- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.

- Strong analytical orientation with the ability to interpret large data sets and translate insights into action.

- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced and high-growth environments.

- High ownership, strong execution orientation and the ability to work under pressure.

- Customer-obsessed approach with a focus on building scalable and sustainable solutions.

- Graduate or postgraduate degree from a reputed institution is preferred.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
