Reports to: VP, Marketing & Communications

Key Responsibilities:

- Build and implement Torq's sustainability and ESG strategy from scratch.

- Set sustainability goals, KPIs, governance, and reporting systems.

- Track and report environmental and social impact across the supply chain.

- Manage ESG reporting using GRI, CDP, BRSR and GHG Protocol.

- Ensure EUDR compliance for coffee and soy, including supplier traceability and due diligence.

- Develop human rights, labour, child-labour and environmental due diligence processes.

- Set up the Environmental & Social Management System (ESMS) as per IFC standards.

- Support lender/DFI audits and due diligence.

- Manage sustainability certifications such as Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, Organic and FSSC 22000.

- Manage consultants, auditors, certification agencies and ESG partners.

- Build partnerships with NGOs, government bodies, industry associations and research organisations.

- Coordinate CSR and Foundation activities.

- Conduct employee sustainability awareness and training.

- Work with Marketing & Communications on sustainability branding, reports and impact stories.

- Regular travel to West Africa and Indian processing sites.

Year 1 Success:

- ESG baseline and materiality assessment completed.

- Sustainability strategy and KPIs established.

- EUDR compliance operational for coffee and soy.

- ESMS implemented and lender/DFI requirements successfully managed.

- First sustainability report published.

- At least one sustainability certification initiated.

Required Experience:

- 5 - 7 years in Sustainability/ESG.

- At least 2 years in agriculture, food & beverage, FMCG or commodity supply chains.

- Experience building ESG/sustainability programmes from scratch.

- Experience with consultants, certification bodies, ESG advisors or lenders/DFIs.

Education & Skills:

- Master's in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Agriculture or related field (or equivalent experience).

- Knowledge of GRI, CDP, BRSR, GHG Protocol, IFC Performance Standards and preferably EUDR.

- Strong project and stakeholder management skills.

- Good analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

- Willing to travel regularly to West Africa and India.

- French is an advantage.
