Job Description - Surgical Oncologist

Position : Surgical Oncologist

Experience : 2-4 Years

Location : East UP / East Uttar pradesh

Department : Oncology / Surgical Oncology

Employment Type : Full-Time

Job Summary :

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Oncologist with 2-4 years of experience in managing and performing oncological surgeries across various cancer specialties. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating cancer patients, planning surgical interventions, and coordinating multidisciplinary cancer care to ensure the best clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Diagnose and manage patients with different types of cancers requiring surgical intervention.

- Perform and assist in oncological surgeries including GI, breast, thoracic, gynecologic, soft tissue, hepatobiliary, and other cancer-related procedures.

- Conduct pre-operative evaluations and post-operative patient care.

- Collaborate with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and critical care teams for comprehensive treatment planning.

- Monitor patient recovery, complications, and long-term follow-up care.

- Maintain detailed clinical documentation, surgical notes, and treatment records.

- Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, risks, and recovery expectations.

- Participate in tumor boards, CMEs, departmental meetings, and academic activities.

- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, NABH standards, and patient safety guidelines.

Required Qualifications

- MBBS + MS/DNB General Surgery

- MCh/DNB Surgical Oncology

- Valid Medical Council Registration

Experience Required

- 2-4 years of experience in Surgical Oncology.

- Experience in handling oncology cases independently or under senior supervision.

Required Skills :

- Strong knowledge of oncology treatment protocols and surgical procedures.

- Excellent surgical, analytical, and decision-making skills.

- Good communication and patient counseling abilities.

- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.

- Strong clinical documentation and patient management skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile :

- Experience in reputed cancer hospitals or multispecialty hospitals.

- Exposure to minimally invasive or robotic oncological surgeries will be an added advantage.

- Research publications or academic participation preferred.
