Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Supply Chain Manager to oversee and manage the supply chain operations for our eCommerce platform and supermarket chain. The ideal candidate will have experience in both retail and eCommerce logistics, with a deep understanding of inventory management, procurement, warehousing, and distribution. The role will require collaboration across various departments to ensure products are efficiently sourced, stocked, and delivered to customers in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supply Chain Planning & Strategy:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies for the eCommerce and retail supermarket business.
- Monitor inventory levels and demand forecasts to ensure product availability and optimize stock across multiple distribution channels (online & in-store).
- Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and sales teams to align supply chain activities with business goals.
2. Procurement & Supplier Management:
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors, ensuring that all supply chain needs are met.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost-effective sourcing.
- Work with the procurement team to ensure timely orders and effective supply chain coordination.
3. Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory control, ensuring proper stock levels and reducing the risk of stockouts or overstocking.
- Implement and refine inventory management systems to track products in real time, both in-store and in warehouses.
- Coordinate the movement of goods across warehouses, fulfilment centres, and retail locations to ensure proper product allocation.
4. Logistics & Distribution:
- Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers, both online and in-store.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), including coordinating deliveries and optimizing shipping processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve delivery accuracy and reduce lead times for both eCommerce and retail operations.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyse supply chain data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare reports on inventory performance, delivery timelines, order fulfilment, and supplier performance.
- Use data insights to forecast demand and improve the overall efficiency of supply chain operations.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with eCommerce teams to ensure product listings and stock availability are updated in real-time.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to coordinate promotional events, seasonal sales, and product launches.
- Interface with store managers to streamline product distribution to physical retail locations.
7. Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards related to product sourcing, transportation, and storage.
- Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain, including disruptions in the supply chain or transportation challenges.
8. Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify areas of improvement in supply chain processes and implement solutions to drive efficiency and cost savings.
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies to enhance supply chain performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 2 years in eCommerce or retail environments (supermarket chain experience is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of supply chain software and tools (e.g., ERP, WMS, TMS, demand forecasting software).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with omnichannel logistics (in-store, eCommerce, click & collect, etc.) is highly desirable.
