Role Overview:
This is a high-ownership role for someone with around 2 years of experience who enjoys building processes from scratch in a fast-moving startup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own demand-and-supply planning: forecast requirements, convert sales plans into procurement and production plans, and maintain optimal stock cover.
- Manage sourcing and procurement of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods; negotiate commercials, lead times, payment terms, and MOQs.
- Develop and manage contract manufacturers, co-packers, suppliers, and logistics partners; handle onboarding, evaluation, and performance reviews.
- Coordinate production schedules, batch planning, capacity planning, and timely dispatch to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
- Work with formulation, regulatory, and quality teams to ensure specifications, artwork, licences, COAs, batch records, and compliance documentation are complete before production.
- Monitor inventory across warehouses, 3PL partners, and channel-specific stock; drive cycle counts, ageing analysis, shrinkage control, and reconciliation.
- Plan inbound and outbound logistics, freight negotiations, dispatch timelines, and 3PL performance for D2C and marketplace orders.
- Support new product launches through packaging development, sampling, pilot batches, cost estimation, and launch-ready supply plans.
- Build weekly MIS dashboards covering purchase orders, inventory cover, fill rate, stockouts, ageing, wastage, landed cost, and supplier OTIF.
- Identify cost-saving, working-capital, and process-improvement opportunities while protecting product quality and service levels.
Candidate Profile:
- Around 2 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, operations, manufacturing, or e-commerce fulfilment.
- Consumer goods, FMCG, nutraceutical, wellness, pharma, or D2C experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, engineering, pharmacy, business, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of procurement, inventory planning, vendor management, production coordination, and logistics.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills: pivot tables, stock calculations, reorder points, and basic MIS dashboards; ERP or inventory-tool exposure is a plus.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Comfortable working directly with founders in an ambiguous, lean, execution-focused environment.
- Willing to visit suppliers, manufacturers, warehouses, and 3PL locations around Bengaluru/Karnataka as needed.
Success Metrics:
- Minimal stockouts, expiry risk, and excess working capital.
- Reliable vendor and manufacturer performance on cost, quality, timelines, and documentation.
- Clear weekly visibility on inventory, procurement, production, and fulfilment.
