Job Summary

The Head of Supply Chain Management for operations will be responsible for end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution, covering component sourcing, strategic vendor management, demand planning, new product introduction (NPI) readiness, inventory control, logistics, and customer fulfillment. The role requires deep knowledge of complex supply chains, long-lead items, global sourcing, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Component Sourcing & Vendor Management

- Manage sourcing of critical components, assemblies, and packaging materials.

- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships with local and global vendors.

- Address long lead-time challenges, allocation issues, and price volatility through proactive planning and negotiation.

- Drive alternate sourcing, cost reduction programs, and vendor consolidation initiatives.

- Conduct supplier audits, quality approvals, and ensure compliance with standards.

2. Demand Forecasting & Material Planning

- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to understand build plans, forecast variability, and NPI requirements.

- Ensure timely material availability for production and assembly operations.

- Optimize MRP schedules and improve forecast accuracy using data-driven planning.

- Align closely with engineering and NPI teams for material readiness during new product launches.

3. Inventory, Warehouse & Material Handling

- Maintain optimal inventory levels considering long-lead items and fluctuating demand cycles.

- Implement best practices in safe storage, material handling, and traceability.

- Enforce FEFO practices, industry standards, and robust cycle counting.

- Optimize warehouse layout, material kitting, and internal logistics for production lines.

4. Logistics & Global Coordination

- Manage import shipments, customs clearance, freight optimization, and international vendor communication.

- Work closely with logistics partners for on-time inbound and outbound deliveries.

- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and documentation requirements.

5. Cost Optimization & Risk Mitigation

- Drive cost optimization across BOM, annual price negotiations, and alternative part proposals.

- Identify supply risks (shortages, end-of-life notices, geopolitical issues) and develop mitigation plans.

- Benchmark supply chain KPIs such as material availability, inventory turns, cost savings, and on-time delivery performance.

6. Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration

- Lead and develop a high-performing SCM team across procurement, planning, logistics, and warehouse functions.

- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, NPI, and Customer teams.

- Implement lean processes, automation tools, and ERP enhancements (SAP/Oracle/Microsoft Dynamics).
