Job Purpose
The Head of Supply Chain will lead, transform, and optimise the end-to-end supply chain function across India and Egypt operations for a fast-growing personal care and skincare manufacturing company. A key mandate of this role is the strategic realignment of Raw Material (RM) and Packaging Material (PM) sourcing, ensuring cost efficiency, supplier consolidation, global sourcing expansion, and strong quality assurance. The role will drive supply reliability, reduce working capital, strengthen supplier partnerships, and establish scalable supply chain systems aligned with the companys growth plans across both countries.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Strategy & RM/PM Realignment
- Lead full transformation of RM/PM procurement processes across India and Egypt.
- Develop and execute a global sourcing strategy for critical RM/PM categories in personal care and skincare (emollients, surfactants, actives, fragrances, essential oils, bottles, tubes, caps, labels, pumps, cartons, etc.).
- Standardize specifications and procurement norms across both locations to achieve cost synergies.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers globally (Asia, Middle East, Europe, Africa) to improve cost competitiveness and supply reliability.
- Develop dual-sourcing and multi-sourcing strategies for key RM/PM to mitigate supply risks.
- Establish long-term contracts, price-locking mechanisms, and quarterly negotiation cycles to drive savings.
- Drive vendor performance management through scorecards, audits, and continuous improvement plans.
- Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams to qualify new materials and alternative suppliers.
- Implement data-driven procurement dashboards for visibility of cost trends, MOQs, lead times, contract status, and savings.
2. Demand Planning & Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
- Lead monthly S&OP cycle across India and Egypt, ensuring alignment between Sales, Marketing, Production, and Finance.
- Build robust forecasting systems and enhance forecast accuracy with demand drivers (promotions, seasonality, product launches).
- Establish integrated demand planning frameworks using ERP/APO tools.
3. Production Planning & Inventory Management
- Oversee production planning to ensure optimal capacity utilization and timely execution of monthly production plans.
- Define inventory norms for RM, PM, and Finished Goods to reduce stockouts and excess stock.
- Implement MRP-based planning and safety stock optimization models.
- Monitor inventory ageing, reduce slow-moving/obsolete stocks, and lead stock rationalization initiatives.
4. Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution
- Lead end-to-end logistics (inbound, inter-plant, outbound) for India and Egypt operations.
- Optimize freight costs through transport consolidation, route planning, and negotiations with 3PL partners.
- Ensure efficient warehousing operations and compliance with safety and regulatory norms.
- Implement digital solutions for warehouse management (WMS) to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Strengthen export/import processes, customs compliance, and cross-border logistics.
5. Supplier Relationship Management & Compliance
- Ensure suppliers adhere to global quality and sustainability standards (ISO, GMP, RSPO, REACH as applicable).
- Drive supplier audits with Quality, R&D, and ESG teams.
- Establish clear KPIs: OTIF, lead time adherence, quality rejection rates, CAPA closure.
- Build strategic partnerships with global RM and PM suppliers for innovation and supply security.
6. Supply Chain Systems & Digitization
- Lead ERP enablement and automation across supply chain nodes.
- Introduce digital dashboards for procurement, planning, and inventory.
- Standardize processes across India and Egypt to achieve transparency, speed, and uniformity.
7. Team Leadership & Cross-Country Coordination
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing supply chain teams in both countries.
- Facilitate regular cross-country reviews to bring alignment in procurement, planning, and inventory management.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- of RM/PM categories relevant to personal care manufacturing.
- Experience managing multi-country supply chain operations (India/Middle East/Africa preferred).
- Expertise in procurement transformation, cost optimization, supplier development, and S&OP.
- Strong analytical skills, negotiation abilities, and ERP/MRP system proficiency.
