About Sunstream Green Energy:
Sunstream Green Energy is a leading renewable energy Independent Power Producer (IPP), driving sustainable energy solutions through large-scale solar and hybrid projects across India and emerging markets. As we expand our portfolio, we are looking for a high-caliber Financial Analyst to join our Investments & Corporate Finance team. This is a core role focused on project finance, debt & equity fundraising, lender management, and investment analysis.
Role Overview:
The role demands strong financial modeling, analytical rigor, and the ability to manage complex transactions across debt and equity markets. The Analyst will play a pivotal role in evaluating investment opportunities, structuring project finance transactions, managing investor & lender relations, and supporting capital raising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Investment & Financial Analysis
- Develop detailed financial models (including sensitivity, scenario, and Monte Carlo analyses) for solar, wind, and hybrid projects.
- Analyze project returns, IRR, DSCR, and other key financial metrics for project bids and investment approvals.
- Support Investment Committee presentations with deep-dive analysis and recommendations.
- Evaluate cost structures, tariff competitiveness, and capital structuring options for projects.
2. Capital Raising & Transaction Support
- Assist in structuring and executing debt and equity raises, including Term Loans, NCDs, Bonds, and CCDs.
- Coordinate with banks, NBFCs, DFIs, and investment banks for project financing.
- Prepare financing proposals, information memorandums, lender presentations, and diligence materials.
- Support in the negotiation of loan agreements, security documents, and related financial contracts.
- Track covenants, compliance certificates, and ongoing reporting to lenders/investors.
3. Risk & Credit Analysis
- Conduct counterparty credit assessments for Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and investors.
- Use internal credit scoring models to evaluate offtaker risks and provide recommendations to management.
- Monitor project cash flows, refinancing options, and interest rate risks.
4. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track financial performance of operational projects against budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze deviations and provide actionable insights to optimize returns.
- Assist in portfolio-level reporting for internal and external stakeholders (including investors, rating agencies, and auditors).
Non-Negotiable Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced financial modeling in Excel, with proficiency in VBA and macros (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of accounting, financial statements, and corporate finance concepts (NPV, IRR, DCF, DSCR, etc.).
- Excellent PowerPoint and report preparation skills for investor and board presentations.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments with tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Preferred Experience & Educational Background:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, corporate credit analysis, or financial planning & analysis roles.
- Prior exposure to renewable energy, infrastructure, or power sectors is highly desirable.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (Finance) from a top-tier business school.
