Role Overview:

The Financial Controller will serve as the primary custodian of financial integrity for our Nigerian operations, overseeing the entire accounting and reporting lifecycle. You will work closely with the regional leadership team and the global finance department to ensure that all fiscal activities align with corporate standards and local regulatory requirements. This role is pivotal in driving business performance by providing actionable financial insights, managing cash flow, and maintaining stringent internal controls that safeguard the companys assets while supporting its rapid expansion in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the end-to-end financial reporting process to ensure accuracy and compliance with both local Nigerian accounting standards and international reporting requirements.

- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting cycles, providing the management team with data-driven projections to support strategic decision-making.

- Manage the internal control framework to mitigate operational risks and ensure the integrity of financial data across all business units.

- Coordinate and manage statutory audits, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors to ensure timely and clean audit closures.

- Conduct deep-dive financial analysis on operational costs and supply chain efficiencies to identify opportunities for margin improvement.

- Supervise the implementation and optimization of ERP systems to streamline accounting workflows and enhance the quality of financial data.

- Monitor cash flow positions and manage working capital effectively to ensure the company maintains optimal liquidity for its regional operations.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in Financial Control and Financial Reporting, with a proven ability to manage complex books of accounts in a multi-currency environment.

- Strong proficiency in Budgeting and Financial Planning, with the ability to translate operational goals into comprehensive financial models.

- Deep understanding of Statutory Audit requirements and Internal Control frameworks, ensuring full compliance with Nigerian tax and corporate laws.

- Advanced technical skills in ERP systems, with a track record of leveraging technology to automate financial processes and improve reporting accuracy.

- Exceptional analytical capabilities, with the ability to synthesize large datasets into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, necessary for collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies.

- A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent, combined with 4 - 18 years of progressive experience in financial management within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.

- Ability to thrive in an on-site work environment in Nigeria, demonstrating high adaptability to regional business dynamics and operational challenges.
