Subject Matter Expert - Foreign Exchange & Cross-Border Transactions

Role Overview :

We are looking for a seasoned Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep knowledge of foreign exchange regulations, cross- border financial transactions, and international reporting standards. The SME will guide our team in defining business requirements for a large- scale financial technology initiative, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and alignment with best practices in global trade and investment flows.

Key Responsibilities :

- Translate regulatory and policy guidelines into clear business requirements.

- Define workflows for modules such as trade finance, overseas investments, remittances, and external borrowings.

- Provide expert input on foreign exchange regulations, international trade practices, and reporting obligations.

- Ensure system design adheres to applicable laws and regulatory standards.

- Develop frameworks for transaction monitoring, reporting, and reconciliation.

- Advise on data governance, audit trails, and compliance controls.

- Work closely with internal teams, financial institutions, and technology partners to align on requirements.

- Conduct workshops and reviews to ensure clarity and consistency across stakeholders.

- Identify potential risks in transaction reporting and compliance processes.

- Recommend mitigation strategies and control mechanisms.
