Description:
- Category Management and support to product development.
- Develop category-specific procurement strategies that are aligned with the organizations product philosophy, construction schedules, and cost targets.
- Create multi-year sourcing plans, analyse material consumption patterns, benchmark prices, and assess supply markets for emerging opportunities or risks.
- Formulate high-order negotiation frameworks and cost-control mechanisms to meet organizational and project-level procurement objectives.
- Create, conduct and maintain discussion & resolution matrices with design, engineering, and project teams to undertake early material/product discovery missions to match the product design specifications.
Vendor Identification and Development:
- The role includes identifying, evaluating, and onboarding suppliers across domestic and international markets.
- To carry out rigorous supplier assessments covering manufacturing capacity, quality systems, certifications, financial stability, and technological capabilities.
- To establish structured vendor development programs and long-term partnerships for critical high-consumption materials.
- Establish, maintain and grow a diversified supplier base to mitigate risks of monopoly.
- Conduct regular vendor audits and performance reviews; thereafter institutionalize corrective action plans to maintain high levels of reliability, quality, and service.
Sourcing process governance:
- Instate processes that embody strong commercial governance, adherence to sourcing protocols, documentation standards, and audit requirements.
- Promoting sustainable sourcing by identifying certified materials, environmentally responsible suppliers, and products that align with the companys ESG commitments.
Project Support and Delivery Interface:
- Work closely with project management, contract & procurement teams to ensure timely sourcing of all long-lead materials in accordance with the product brief and construction schedule.
- Coordinate approvals for technical submittals, samples, mock-ups, and related documentation [if required at pre-order stages only].
Data, Systems, and Reporting:
- Establish digital procurement platforms, dashboards, and reporting tools that enable transparent and real-time visibility into sourcing activities.
- Maintain comprehensive category-level databases covering supplier performance, material specifications, price trends, and market intelligence.
- Prepare and present periodic reports to senior leadership, highlighting sourcing performance, risks and upcoming commitments.
Stakeholder Management:
- Responsible to build relations and liaising with external stakeholders as well as cross functional internal stakeholders:.
- The role will require continuous coordination with design, project management, contracts, and quality assurance teams.
- The candidate will also engage with finance, sustainability, ESG, and compliance functions to ensure alignment with related organisational goals.
