Education: Degree: Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical), Supply Chain or Sourcing focus.
Experience: Minimum 10 - 15 years in purchasing, 5 + years in Global Purchase.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Positive attitude with a willingness to be a problem solver, knowledge of Supply Chain best practices, multi-step strategic sourcing processes and/or category management strategies, and use of PLM, QMS, and ERP/MRP systems.
- Must have global certification requirement in depth knowledge for exports to various countries including Incoterms (International Commercial Terms).
- Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to create and manage a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control several projects at various stages of work.
- Must have strong analytical skills and proven ability to efficiently research and summarize information effectively and make recommendations based upon analysis.
- Must have excellent communication skill with highly collaborative approach to ensure the timely completion of projects.
- Must be a Strategic Thinker and should be able to clearly explain Vision, Strategy and Plan to execute.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Explore & evaluate potential sources and build supplier pool to cater to global requirements.
- Identify and lead projects in alignment with global sourcing requirements.
- Risk mitigation by identifying and leading projects to reduce our dependency on single-source suppliers.
- Provide direction on best suppliers and supply chain for new product introductions.
- Identify and help qualify, in collaboration with cross-functional team, suppliers for alternate sourcing and new product introductions.
- Develop a 3-year roadmap to reduce risk across the entire supply chain.
- Use data to justify roadmap, project scope, and investment.
- Lead RFQs and propose relevant supplier nominations consistent with Group requirements.
- Lead in supplier negotiations and participate in audits.
- Participate in the consolidated Global supplier bidding process.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required.
