Position: Head - Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain

Role Summary:

The role is responsible for end-to-end strategic sourcing and supply chain management for consumer electricals and kitchen appliances, with accountability for cost leadership, supplier strategy, commodity risk management, and supply continuity. The position leads high-value spend portfolios, supports new product development, and drives sustainable cost reduction through structured sourcing and supplier collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Leadership

- Lead strategic sourcing activities across metals, plastics, electronics, bought-out parts, and packaging.

- Own sourcing strategy for multiple product categories including cooktops, and Kitchen appliances.

- Develop and execute commodity-level sourcing strategies aligned with business goals.

- Manage large procurement spend portfolios (4002500+ Cr) across India and China.

- Drive sourcing governance, negotiation strategy, and supplier engagement models

2. Cost Management & Value Creation

- Deliver year-on-year cost reduction targets through should-costing, clean-sheet costing, and benchmarking.

- Implement raw material index-linked pricing mechanisms and periodic price revisions.

- Lead value engineering, RFQ, e-auction, and make-vs-buy initiatives.

- Improve total cost of ownership (TCO) while maintaining quality and delivery standards.

3. Supplier Strategy & Development

- Lead supplier identification, evaluation, onboarding, and development

- Manage multi-tier supplier negotiations (T1, T2, T3) including raw material producers

- Implement supplier scorecards covering cost, quality, delivery, and risk

- Drive supplier de-risking, localization, and rationalization initiatives

- Build long-term supplier partnerships across India and China

4. New Product Development (NPD) Support

- Support R&D and engineering teams during product development and localization

- Enable early supplier involvement for cost, design, and manufacturability improvements

- Lead sourcing of tooling, molds, prototypes, and pilot parts

- Ensure procurement readiness for on-time product launches

5. Supply Chain & Risk Management

- Ensure supply continuity for critical commodities and components

- Identify and mitigate supply, capacity, and price risks

- Support demand planning, supply planning, and inventory optimization

- Manage crisis situations related to shortages, logistics disruptions, or supplier constraints

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Finance, Planning, and Sales teams

- Support business decisions through cost analytics and sourcing insights

- Align sourcing activities with operational and financial targets

7. Team Leadership

- Lead and develop teams handling strategic sourcing, commodity management, and supplier

development

- Define clear KPIs and performance metrics

- Build a structured, data-driven, and performance-oriented sourcing organization

Performance Indicators:

- Cost reduction and purchase price variance

- Supplier quality and delivery performance

- Localization and supplier risk reduction

- On-time sourcing for new product launches

- Inventory turns and working capital efficiency

Scope of Materials:

Direct:

- Copper, Aluminium, steel (CRCA, SS), plastics (PP, ABS, compounds), electronics (PCBs), motors, heating elements, bearings, capacitors, thermostats, sheet metal and plastic parts

Indirect:

- Packaging, tooling & molds, selected capex support

- BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering

- PG Diploma / MBA in Supply Chain or Operations

- 10-15 years of experience in strategic sourcing and supply chain management

- Experience in consumer electricals, kitchen appliances, pumps, or durable goods manufacturing

- Strong exposure to India and China sourcing ecosystems
