Strategic Partnership Manager ( Sr Grade) : Cross Border Payments & Merchant Alliances / Remittance services

ABOUT THE ROLE :
This is a mid-senior level strategic role where you will lead the acquisition and management of global merchant and channel partnerships, helping businesses across sectors go global. You'll also work closely with internal stakeholders like product, tech, compliance, and marketing to drive go-to-market (GTM) execution for cross-border growth.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT & STRATEGY
1. Identify, pitch, and onboard strategic merchant and channel partners for cross-border payments enablement.
2. Develop strong partnerships with exporters, e-commerce sellers, D2C brands, logistics tech platforms, and marketplaces.
3. Establish channel alliances with PSPs, payment aggregators, acquiring banks, and forex partners.
CROSS BORDER SALES & ENABLEMENT
1. Drive cross-border transaction volumes by enabling multi-currency payment acceptance and FX settlement solutions.
2. Develop go-to-market (GTM) strategies with partners to promote adoption of cross-border capabilities.
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
1. Build and maintain C-level and senior relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders (legal, finance, compliance, tech).
2. Negotiate commercial agreements including revenue-share, settlement fees, and service-level terms.
COMPLIANCE & REGULATORY ADHERECE
1. Ensure partnerships align with RBI/FEMA guidelines and cross-border compliance requirements.
2. Collaborate with legal and risk teams to execute partner due diligence and contractual formalities.
INTEGRATION & TECH CORDINATION
1. Coordinate with internal tech/product teams and partner developers for API/SaaS platform integrations.
2. Ensure seamless onboarding, integration testing, and post-live support for partners.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Must-Have Qualifications:
1. 6-12 years of experience in fintech, cross-border payments, strategic alliances, or merchant acquisition.
2. Strong understanding of FX conversion, cross-border remittance, and payment gateway integration.
3. Proven track record of merchant/channel partnerships and GTM execution in fintech or global commerce.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
NICE TO HAVE:
1. Experience working with RBI-compliant systems, PSP licenses, or digital exporters.
2. Familiarity with UPI for cross-border, card schemes (Visa/Mastercard), and B2B invoicing platforms.
3. Global exposure or experience in enabling Indian merchants for UAE, SEA, US, or EU corridors.
