PRODUCTION MANAGER

Function - Manufacturing & Operations

Department - Production

Location - Ahmedabad

Responding to - GM/Plant Head/Operations Head

Job Summary:

- The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and high-quality output while adhering to safety and cost standards. We are seeking an experienced and qualified Production Manager to oversee our end-to-end manufacturing and operations.


- The ideal candidate will hold a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering and have 10+years' experience including strong exposure to precast production.


- The production Manager will lead the planning , coordination, and control of manufacturing processes to ensure the timely production of high-quality precast elements within budget and safety guidelines

Qualifications:

- Master of Science (MS) in Industrial engineering

- Batchelor's degree in Civil/ Mechanical/ Production Engineering

- Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (preferred)

- Training or experience in precast production technologies (mandatory)

Experience:

- Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing / production operations

- At least 5yrs in managing precast or concrete production manufacturing

- Proven experience in leading large production teams and managing plant-level operations.

Goals and Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage the daily/weekly/ monthly production schedules for precast elements.

- Ensure Smooth execution of production plans aligned with project timelines

- Monitor equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate with maintenance teams for maximum uptime

- Enforce quality control standards for concrete mix, casting, curing and finishing

- Implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality or delivery

- Maintain a safe and compliant work environment, in line with statutory and industry standards.

- Prepare and manage the production budget, including labour, material and equipment costs.

- Analyse production metrics and implement efficiency improvements.

- Collaborate with planning, QA/QC, stores, and logistics for seamless coordination

- Maintain inventory control for raw materials (cement, aggregates, steel) and precast elements

- Lead, coach and develop production staff and labour teams

- Conduct training programs for new hires and existing staff on production techniques and safety

- Ensure optimal use of Molds, pallets, and lifting gear for resource efficiency.

- Maintain documentation and reports related to production ,safety, and quality

- Participate in client or project coordination meetings for delivery planning

- Support Plant Head in plant -level decision -making, including capacity expansion, new equipment procurement, layout planning and resource development

- Participate in strategic planning of Molds, automation, cranes, and batching plants

- Assist in formulating and revising plant policies, SOPs, and cost-saving measures

- Play a key role in root-cause analysis and resolution of recurring plant-level issues

- Provide input to senior management on production forecasts, risks, and growth opportunities

- Take ownership of plant engineering functions such as utilities, equipment calibration, and minor civil/mechanical works.

- Evaluating and piloting technical innovations, process automation, and managerial best practices.

Skills & Capabilities:

- In-depth knowledge of precast concrete manufacturing processes

- Strong leadership and team management skills

- Excellent planning and execution capabilities

- Working knowledge of production control software, ERP, Tally, Scheduling tools

- Familiarity with precast yard layout, Mold design, and lifting mechanisms sound understanding of quality standards, mix design, and curing processes analytical mindset with problem-solving skills strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Additional Capabilities:

- Exposure to automated precast machinery and technologies

- Familiarity with project-based production and modular construction

- Understanding of load planning, stacking, and dispatch logistics

- Experience in certification processes like ISO, BIS or QCI related to precast

- Analytical, structured, and process-driven decision-making skills

KPI:

- Production output (m/day OR ton/day) vs target

- Daily Mold utilization rate

- Quality rejection percentage

- Production cost per unit vs. budget

- Production downtime hours

- Safety incident frequency rate

- On-time casting and delivery performance

- Labour and equipment productivity

- Inventory accuracy and material consumption variance

- Number of process improvements implemented per quarter

- Overall Equipment Effectiveness

- Production Schedule Adherence

- Waste Reduction Rate

- Process Improvements Rate
